Cancer Focus

The Lab will focus on ways of molecular targeted imaging of malignant lesions to early detect, treat, and prevent cancer.

Research Interest

My research focuses on early cancer detection with applications in surgical oncology and diagnostics. I have dual expertise as an experienced head and neck cancer surgeon (M.D.) and basic scientist (Ph.D.). I led a nerve fluorescent imaging project using a sodium channel Nav1.7 targeted molecule, as well as a project on fluorescent imaging of oral cancer. Currently, we are working on ways to detect the malignant transformation potential of oral premalignant lesions that will help prevent cancer development altogether.
