Professor
Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
Cancer Focus:

Our research program is focused on defining the mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of NF1-associated peripheral nerve sheath tumors and using that information to develop effective new therapies for these neoplasms

Research Interest

Over the last 25 years, my lab has defined the role that aberrant growth factor signaling, genetic alterations, and epigenetic changes play in nervous system regeneration, the pathogenesis of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1)-associated peripheral nerve sheath tumors and neurodegenerative diseases. I have extensive experience working directly with oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, basic researchers, and biorepository staff to effectively collect, manage, and utilize clinical sample resources.
