Research Interest
With over 16 years of combined experience in the fields of microbiology, gastrointestinal epithelial biology, and mucosal immunology, I have developed expertise in examining microbe-epithelial interactions in the context of mucosal homeostasis and disease. As an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), I have created an innovative research program which focuses on mucin-degrading microbes.
