Kristen Engevik, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology
Cancer Focus
My lab is focused on elucidating the role of epithelial purinergic signaling (an important route of cell communication) within gastrointestinal cancers, specifically colon cancer.
Research Program
Research Interest
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Regenerative Medicine at Medical University of South Carolina. The primary goals of my research lab are to [1] characterize the role of purinergic signaling during inflammation and repair [2] identify the downstream signaling cascades in epithelial cells associated with purinergic signaling, and [3] elucidate the role of epithelial purinergic signaling in colon cancer.
