Research Interest

I am a distinguished surgical oncologist, scholar, and educator. I+B103+B103 specializes in the surgical treatment of complex upper gastrointestinal tract and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) cancers. He is an innovator and expert in robotic surgery. He has introduced robotic approaches to many complex surgical oncology procedures: robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple procedure) and distal pancreatectomy, robotic radical cholecystectomy, robotic liver surgery, robotic duodenal and small bowel resection, and robotic gastric surgery. He helped develop a robust multidisciplinary program for the management of CDH1 gene mutations carriers and has performed over 25 minimally invasive risk-reducing total gastrectomy operations over the last four years.
