Research Interest

I am an academic Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology clinician-scientist. My career goal is to excel in the translation of laboratory science into new molecular risk assessment strategies, and to improve therapies for oral epithelial neoplasms. I have a background in public health, dentistry, and oral medicine, and have dedicated a considerable part of my career to the diagnosis and management of oral precancers and cancers. Devoted to improving clinical management, I have conducted a number of studies assessing the molecular diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of oral neoplasm. I have also led clinical trials, both investigator-initiated and multi-centered, evaluating the efficacy of chemopreventive agents of oral cancer.
